September is a time of rich Michigan harvests. From root vegetables to a broad variety of apples, there is plenty to choose from. Campers enjoy cooking burgers and hotdogs but they also like to embrace local food and drink options when they are spending time outdoors with friends and family.
Campers can indulge their love of Farmers’ Markets, wineries, breweries, and other local treats. They can sample some local honey, go on a hayride, and pick up the pumpkins they need for carving. They can attend some of the many Fall Festivals throughout the state. These offer a wide variety of activities such as corn mazes, tractor pulls, and petting zoos.
There are color tours getting started, zip lining, canopied drives, apple festivals, and amazing hiking and biking for all levels of expertise. It’s a perfect time for exploring all day and coming back to the campground with arms full of local favorites. Imagine fresh cherry butter on your morning toast and a local craft beer with your evening meal. It all adds to the experience of camping in Michigan’s gorgeous September month.
Bring your pets along as well because most of our member RV parks and campgrounds are very pet-friendly. They will enjoy walk around the park with you and exploring the fresh smells of the season. Kids love it, too. They may be in school during the week but they love squeezing in a few last camping weekends before the snow arrives.
We look forward to serving you this month as you indulge in all that September has to offer our favorite camping families.
